It may be hard to believe since Book 3 hasn’t even aired yet (SOON!), but we just had the final Korra animatic meeting this afternoon for the Book 4 series finale episode. It’s been bittersweet saying goodbye to so many amazing crew members as their teams have rolled off the production these last few weeks. Pictured here, left to right: Melchior Zwyer (director), Lauren Montgomery (supervising producer), Joaquim Dos Santos (co-executive producer), Ki-Hyun Ryu (supervising producer), me, Owen Sullivan (assistant director), and Mike. In hindsight, I wish we had lined up this shot so it looked like the Mac desktop tiger’s ears were sprouting from Mike’s head.
P.S. Though we had the animatic meeting, that still means there’s a TON of work left to do on Book 4. That is still part of the pre-production process.
As “The Legend of Korra” gears up for its return with Book 3 “Change,” fans should keep their eyes peeled as the Nickelodeon prepare for the upfront on March 13.
Morgan (Airspeed Prime) is joined by Troy (Trojan People), Kelly (Gemini530) and Greg (Greg2b) to discuss a large amount of news including more discussion on the Book 3 trailer, lots of Korra merch announced and more. We answer 1 listener question before an in-depth discussion on K111 Skeletons In The Closet.
NOTE/ There are some audio issues throughout, we had a lot of issues while recording which did effect the flow of the podcast as well as the audio quality. Most of it is fine though.
I always get frustrated when we have a lot of issues doing an episode, this one in particular was a bit of a fight throughout. We all just about kept up with the discussion throughout and I think we managed to cover the episode well all things considering.
Podcasting can be very frustrating sometimes, this was one of those times.
Nine years ago, on February 21, 2005, Nickelodeon premiered The Boy in The Iceberg and from this show, a family was born. Over the years, we have cried over leaves that fall from the vine and laughed over Melon Lords and have lived to see another Avatar born into the Water Tribe. I couldn’t think of a better family I would rather be a part of! Here’s to 9 more years of feels, everybody!
This is a close up of the dragon in the new tlok trailer. Could that person riding the dragon be Zuko?
THAT’S WHY THEY GUARDED IT SO WELL!!
I KNOW AANG I FEEL YOU TOO HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?
So, here’s the deal: I transformed the Book 3 video into animated gif form and used that to get frame-by-frames of some of the most mysterious bits. I’m going to post them one by one in an attempt to keep the images as big as possible, and point out what can be gleaned from the shakycam other than what can be noticed with the naked eye! =D
I’m posting this one here because I’ve seen people assuming that the person fighting the OWL is Tenzin… but it isn’t. In this screen, if you’ll notice, our mysterious figure is upside-down, and she has hair. More importantly, she has a ponytail. The person fighting the OWL, most likely, is Korra herself… and she’s wearing different clothes than she usually does (maybe a disguise?).
My guess is that she’s trying to break into an OWL compound (note the lotus insignia above the door) for some reason. Why? Who knows! Maybe it has something to do with the dragons.
